Biography I was born in January 2, 1951 in Russia. My father was a bookkeeper and my mother was a homemaker. Throughout my youth I had strong interest in fine art and dedicated my life to it. I graduated from National Academy of Art in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg), the most prestigious art school in Russia, where I studied a wide range of subjects including sculpture, drawing, anatomy, perspective, architecture, philosophy and the history of fine art and got Masters degree in Sculpture and Drawing. In the class under the well-known sculptor and professor V. B. Pinchouk I excelled in monumental sculpture. After graduation I participated in numerous exhibitions and art shows at major galleries in Leningrad. Motivated to know more about different cultures and work freely I took the opportunity to come to the United States. Since 1989 I have been living in New York with my family (my wife and son) devoting my time to creating artwork and occasionally being involved in sculptural projects. |
